Pray for the People in Japan · 13 March 2011
While we pray for those who have left a mark on our hearts, there are times when we just need to pray for a group of people we may not even know. When we just need to pray for people because they are people.
All weekend, I have seen pictures of the devastation and destruction the Tsunami and earthquake have wreaked on Japan. I have a couple friends there, but for the most part, I do not have a vested interest in what is happening across the Pacific. Still, my heart goes out to those with lost family members and friends. And my prayers go up for their comfort in this time of grief and pain.
We can seldom offer words of comfort to people in situations that we have never had to live through. But just maybe the words, “I will pray for you,” can give comfort and grace from above when nothing else can be said. When the only thing else we can do is to cry with those who have lost so much.
Hopefully, we can all take time from our busy lives and offer up a prayer for the people in Japan.
